Canon has released new firmware for the EOS R7. The new version is 1.8.0 and addresses compatibility and bug fixes, including some of the ambiguous Err70 issues that some EOS R7 users run into.

You can currently download the new firmware from the Canon Japan web site, but other Canon sites will be adding the new firmware over the next 24 hours or so. You can also wait for your Canon Connect App to let you know when it's available.

It doesn't matter where you download it from, it's the same firmware globally and all of the languages are there.

This is a big improvement. Once they added the 3:2 and 1:1 crops to EOS VR Utility, it was really annoying to be having to use the 16:9 or 8:9 guides on the camera to just guess at what your shot's framing was going to be.

I really need to get my hands on these special lenses to know how they work.
