Reptiles and Amphibians

Nice low shooting position!
Which lens did You use? Exif shows 400mm with a max aperture of f/16.
I’m not sure about the f/16.

This was with the RF100-400 f/5.6-8 IS USM on the R6II at 400mm, 1/100th, f/8, iso 200. I really enjoy the close minimum focus distance and max magnification of 0.41x on that lens. The stabilization allowing me to hand hold 1/100th at 400mm is really good too.

Our pond is next to a patio and I was on the other side of a retaining wall and using the flip screen to shoot allowing for the low angle of view. Somewhere I read about getting to the eye level of your subject rather than shooting from my own eye level for better composition.

Thank You!
I own also one and I like it a lot for the reasons You mentioned.
I don't know why the Exif showed a max aperture of f/16. It is obviously wrong.

Very nice series, ISv. I really like the first ans the last shot.
Thanks!
I was telling short story that for sure is happening on daily basis. The distance was so short (~3 meters = MFD of that lens, actually little bit shorter) I couldn't get both of them in focus... And no way to Zoom by walking back!
